Currently we need to focus on the alleyway project. Once it is complete, we will focus on other parts of the neighborhood. Additionally, the people in the group will be your best advocates for all things Silver Terrace. So come join us!

Updating the website, connecting with your neighbors, taking pictures at the events, participating in cleaning and greening days, providing coffee or food at events are all really helpful ways to be involved. If you have other ways not listed here, we want to know! Email us!

Here is an FAQ the SF Parks Alliance made about the project.

With this project we hope to

• Instill a sense of community pride and discourage dumping in the alley
• Enhance the stewardship of the local community
• Create a safe and beautiful pedestrian thoroughfare
• Bolster and build the Friends of Silver Terrace
• Build momentum for more investment in the Silver Terrace neighborhood

What changes we’re thinking of making

• Add lighting, planters and a painted mural, 
• To clean up and beautify this alleyway
• Create a sustainable, well stewarded community walkway
• To provide a safe thoroughfare to the Silver Terrace athletic fields, playground, and recreation center, which currently houses the Kinderhaus daycare.

Funding Source

• A Community Challenge Grant
• A citywide program that funds meaningful, community led projects
• Pro-bono design work and in-kind donations through volunteer work
